Fees for a Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Business Permit
Medical marijuana growers and processors have different fees than medical marijuana dispensaries, however, all fees must be paid by certified check or money order. The fees paid will be deposited in the Medical Marijuana Fund that facilitates marijuana research, drug prevention programs, and patient accessibility. Once approved, growers, processors and dispensaries must place renewal applications in no later than four months before the permit expires. The earliest an application for permit renewal can be submitted is six months before the permit expiration date. Renewal fees for growers, processors and dispensaries are refundable.
Permit Fees for Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Growers and Processors
At the time an application for a permit is submitted, a non-refundable payment of $10,000 is required for an “application fee.” An additional $20,000 for the business permit fee is also required at the time the permit application is submitted. The $20,000, however, is refundable. If your medical marijuana business is not approved, you will get a refund of your $20,000 permit fee (but not your $10,000 application fee).
A renewal fee is a refundable $10,000. This renewal permit fee covers renewals for all locations, so you will not have to pay $10,000 per location to renew your medical marijuana permit.
Permit Fees for Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Dispensaries
Medical marijuana dispensaries submitting an application for a permit must pay a non-refundable fee of $5,000 for the initial “application fee.” A refundable permit fee of $30,000 is required at the time of application for each medical marijuana dispensary location.
There is a refundable renewal fee of $5,000 for dispensaries, but unlike the initial permit, the renewal fee covers a permit for all locations.
A $250 fee will be applied to amend an application to change the location or business activities of the medical marijuana business.
